Accessibility. Compared with the majority of holiday accommodation, our villa is very accessible to guests with a range of disabilities. Being on a single level throughout, & on the same level as the pool which is very close means moving around the villa & adjacent terraces is very easy. The following comments by one of our disabled guests says it all better than we can:

"This has been the first all family holiday since 2004 & has been a marvellous success. The house was ideally suited for 3 families with the …..... enjoying the casinha. I am confined to a wheelchair as I have motor neuron disease. It has been wonderful to find a villa which is disabled friendly. The wet-room has been superb & with the shower chair I had everything I needed. My wheelchair struggled at times on the stones but I had plenty of people to help push. We hired a pool hoist so I could swim twice daily which was amazing. The family all enjoyed using the hoist too! Our hire car was a Renault Kangoo (converted) similar to ours in the UK & this has made trips out easy.

We had a wonderful afternoon at Slide & Splash (wheelchairs go free!) & everyone enjoyed all the slides. It was very wheelchair friendly & appeared to be full of people from the UK enjoying the ½ term holiday. Another day we went to Lagos & had a boat trip to the grottos. Here again the boat men were amazing & lifted me into the boat with great ease. Everyone marvelled at the rock formations, declined to swim in the cold sea but the children each drove the boat amidst great excitement. All the restaurants have had useful ramps & goo disabled loos!

The children have had a great time, a lot of it spent in the pool & hot tub – reluctantly abandoning the pool for meals. We have BBQed having visited the excellent village butcher & feasted on enormous prawns from the supermarket. The weather has been superb with blue cloudless skies & a gentle breeze. The garden has been a riot of colours & the nature trail has been a great success. With an excellent library, TV, & the internet we have had all the “mod cons” for a relaxing week away from work & school. We would not hesitate to recommend this villa to our local MND association. Thank you for your beautiful villa. (June 2010)"

Whilst the villa was not purpose built for accessibility, we are keen to do all we practically can to make it comfortable & accessible for all our guests, but stress that the villa is unsuitable for unassisted guests, nor is it suitable for all types of disability.

Please read the details given carefully. Read also the FAQs which give specific answers to questions that have been raised. If a concern you may have isn't covered please ask. Above all we want our guests to enjoy their holiday at Quinta Dos Sonhos & want to avoid any possibility of misunderstanding.
